first_imgSOCCER: Shane Byrne has got his managerial reign off to a flyer as manager of the LYIT Men’s Soccer team with a stunning 3-0 win away to NUIG.Byrne masterminded an excellent away victory against NUIG earlier this afternoon in Galway. Goals from Daire McDaid, Kevin Doran and Paul McVeigh ensured the LYIT side took all three points.It could’ve been different for LYIT had it not been for the inspired efforts of goalkeeper Peter Burke.Burke who plies his trade in the Irish League with Cliftonville FC produced a sensational point-blank save after just one minute.He made a couple of another important saves before Daire McDaid opened the scoring after a fine run and finish.
