Both were taken to hospital.Read: More than 56,000 without power as Storm Doris downs power lines, trees and cancels flights> By Michelle Hennessy 10 Comments A WOMAN IN England has died after being struck by a piece of debris that fell into the street in high winds.West Midlands Ambulance Service said it received 15 emergency calls at 11.43 this morning to Wolverhampton city centre.Two ambulances, a paramedic area support officer and the critical care paramedics from the Midlands Air Ambulance in Staffordshire were sent to the scene.“On arrival, crews found a woman who had suffered very serious head injuries,” a spokesperson said.“Sadly, it quickly became apparent that there was nothing that could be done to save her and she was confirmed dead at the scene.”Alex Ross, chief reporter at the Wolverhampton-based Express and Star newspaper told Sky News that people at the scene were “in tears”.“It was incredibly windy this morning. I saw advertising placards flying across the road, missing cars.”In a separate incident, two men were also injured on a rural road in Shropshire this morning when a tree came down on their car.
